#668 Attend a poetry reading ✔

Georgia and I went out of our way to experience something new and outside of our comfort zones, and by doing so, I got to complete bucket list goal #668 Attend a Poetry Reading. This was an extremely fun and exciting experience, we got to meet new people and listen to some beautiful poetry. The Poetry Cafe in London has a gorgeous interior and lots of vegan options available. They also have fresh teas and an interesting style of music going on in the background.

The poetry being read out on the night really made me think not only about the topics at hand but also, about the way I write my own poetry and it made me think that I should attempt to go outside of my comfort zone there also. I tend to stick to the typical 4 lined stanza. But, since attending the poetry slam I have decided to attempt more sonnets, blank verse, and haikus. I have never tried haikus, but they definitely seem interesting and like a worthwhile challenge to attempt, considering I am not a concise person, at all. This was an experience certainly worth trying and I would undoubtedly do it again.
